2022 Bitterroot Celtic Games In Pictures
The 2022 Bitterroot Celtic Games and Gathering was another huge success for the Bitterroot Valley! It was two full days of fun, sun, Celtic music, athletic events, vendors and more.
For the past 13 years the Bitterroot Celtic Society has put on these games and every year it has grown bigger and bigger. You can't ask for a better setting than the Daly Mansion in Hamilton. Even with the heat over the weekend there is enough shade on the grounds that helps everyone not feel the heat as much as you would expect.
Fun for everyone
There was something at the event for everyone. Face painting and kettle corn for the kids. Pipe Band music from musicians all over the North West and Montana, with individual competitions that were judged by one of the best pipers in the world. The Clan tents are all open to talk and research your heritage and the honored clan this year traveled all the way from North Carolina to be a part of the event.
The athletic events including the "sheaf toss", the heavy weight throw and the "caber toss" (picture throwing a telephone pole), were performed by some world class athletes from all over the country.
Thank you and see you next year!
There is so much to offer every year from Scotch and Mead tasting to Sunday tea service. The vendors were fantastic too, everything from medieval chainmail and weapons to flower crowns, traditional clothing, instruments, snacks and goodies from Scotland, Ireland and Wales. There are lots of people to thank for making this event successful for another year. The entire Bitterroot Celtic Society, all of the people that traveled to come to the event and the over one hundred volunteers that helped make this event possible.
